Boat Design Services

Andeco Marine Services offers boat design services that cover a broad spectrum. From basic conceptual drawings to 3D modeling and performance analysis. We also provide consultation services.

Conceptual Drawings

These are very basic drawings where the shape, size, style and arrangements of the vessel are laid out. If suitable to the client’s needs, then preliminary hydrostatics can then be performed.

3D modeling

From the concept drawings a virtual three dimensional model can then be built utilizing the 3D NURBS modeling program. The boat can basically be built to almost any degree of completion using the computer. This gives an excellent representation of what the finished vessel will look like. Line development, hull faring, weight analysis, hydrostatics reports and other vessel conditions can be realized.

2D Drawings

As relevant today as it has been for many, many years “the drawings” are at the heart of the design process. Even employing Auto Cad technology, preparation of a set of accurate technical boat drawings is a very time consuming exercise. The end result should be a very detailed work of technical art, pleasing to the eye and an inspiration to the owner and builder. A full set of drawings should cover every aspect of the construction process from “laying of the keel” to type, quality and quantity of fasteners used in the cabinets. Before commissioning or buying a set of boat plans be sure what you are getting. Good drawings are time and money well spent. A good set should include but not be limited to:

  • Deck Plan and Profile
  • Lines
  • Arrangement
  • Construction
  • Sections
  • Frames and Bulk Heads
  • Machinery
  • Longitudinal and Breasthook
  • Sail Plan
  • Weight Estimate
  • Electrical
